Jake Israel - Portfolio

A selection of things I’ve designed, built, shaped, launched, rethought, and occasionally argued into existence. Some commercial. Some personal.

All very much on purpose.

I'm most certainly with Annie Leibovitz on this one: something that you see in my pictures, is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people.

These are our stories. Perhaps, they're yours too. Proof that after all these years, I still haven’t figured out what I want to be when I grow up.

ACADEMIC LIFE

Professor

Teaching the craft, questioning conventions, mentoring the next generation, and encouraging curiosity, experimentation, and different ways of thinking.

AURAL FIXATION

Jake Israel's
Essential Playlists

A public archive of carefully assembled musical journeys, covering genres, artists, eras, influences, obsessions, and the occasional guilty pleasure.

Have a project, an idea, a question, or an interesting problem that refuses to behave? Something that needs making, fixing, rethinking, photographing, designing, or otherwise coalescing into existence? Make contact. I can’t promise to say yes, but I can promise to have an opinion.

Good design must be functional, and must be translated into visual aesthetics without any reliance on gimmicks that need be explained.
